FEDERAL MP WELCOMES NATIONAL NEIGHBOUR DAY
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP said today that he welcomes National Neighbour Day
“This has five principal aims –
1. Strengthen communities and build better relationships with the people who live around us.
2. Create safer, healthier and more vibrant suburbs and towns.
3. Promote tolerance, respect and understanding.
4. Break down community barriers.
5. Protect the elderly, the vulnerable and the disadvantaged.
“Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community which links together the people next door and across the street - or if you live in the bush, the next farm,” Mr Ruddock said.
“Certainly my wife Heather and I will ask neighbours in for coffee and also catch up with the neighbours behind us. As a matter of course we see neighbours regularly as we live near a park and we regularly walk there and it is certainly a great way to have a chat.
